Spring tiptoes in

Spring tiptoes into the garden cautiously.  Yesterday, the daffodils were not yet blooming.  The chilly nights and capricious weather warned them to wait a little longer.  But as I sat outside in the sunshine yesterday, I could almost hear the warm rays coaxing the daffodils to bloom.

And sure enough, this morning when I stepped outside, the first few brave white-and-yellow flowers had bloomed.

But of course, today was windy and much colder.  I found myself hoping that the other daffodils wait to bloom just a little longer until spring abandons its caution and makes a bold appearance.

However, the first few daffodils did brighten my day; maybe tomorrow the sun will join them as well!

I am participating in the Slice of Life challenge to write and publish a post each day in March.   Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for creating a place for writers to share their work all month long and hosting the March Slice of Life Story Challenge!
