This is one of my favorite forms for the Slice of Life each March. It helps me focus on this exact moment and be reflective about my thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present.
Currently
Finishing the last few sips of coffee.
Enjoying the quiet before other teachers arrive at work and the day begins.
Relishing in the early morning sunlight that tinges my classroom with a soft glow.
Glancing at the persuasive letters, speeches, petitions, and editorials that are ready to go out into the world.
Checking my morning to-do list.
Remembering that today is class picture day.
Listening to the calming sound of piano music permeating the silence.
Wondering how expensive the bid for a new roof is going to be.
Hoping that students who were gone yesterday will return today.
Rereading my slice to see if I missed anything.
Wishing I had another cup of coffee.
Hovering my mouse over the publish button.
Anticipating the day ahead!
Currently, what are you doing?
I am participating in the Slice of Life challenge to write and publish a post each day in March. Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for creating a place for writers to share their work all month long and hosting the March Slice of Life Story Challenge!
I love this structure also. It gives such a clear window into your world right at this moment. Might use it myself today!

It’s always the coffee that makes my day! And the longing for more. Loved stepping into your morning.

I sense the quiet of the moment before hallways and classrooms fill with students and teachers. Is there anything quite as quiet as an almost empty school?

I love being in my classroom alone when the sun shines through! This year, the sun comes through at the end of the day, but my previous classroom got the morning light and it was so nice to start the day that way.
