As I set off on my morning run with the full moon peeking through the wispy clouds and a hint of sunlight appearing over the opposite horizon, I was reminded of the disappointment of last night.
I saw these words on the screen of my phone: “There’s a bit of a crisis…the laundry room is flooded. And it may have gone under the new flooring.”
With that, my Wednesday evening took a downward turn. The flooring, which had just been finished the week before, had to be pulled up and all of the water sopped up. Not exactly what we had been planning for the night.
But this morning, the crisp air and still beauty of the partly lit sky, dawned with new possibilities and renewed hope. The flooring can be fixed. It will be okay.
As I enter March and the Slice of Life Challenge, I am reminded: in the midst of frustrations and setbacks and disappointments, still we March on.
I am participating in the Slice of Life challenge to write and publish a post each day in March. Thanks to Two Writing Teachers for creating a place for writers to share their work all month long and hosting the March Slice of Life Story Challenge!
